Carlsbourg is an agricultural village in the southwestern corner of the province of Luxembourg, almost on the border with the province of Namur and about 12 km directly north of Bouillon. It has a castle, which was built in the early 18th century amid a vast and beautiful park, partly planted in the second half of the 18th century. In the castle's interior, the honor staircase and the paintings by P.J. Redouté (1759-1839; he was once called the Raphael of Flowers) particularly attract attention. The wooded surroundings of the village are a paradise for walking.
