Montquintin is a picturesque hamlet situated on a hilltop overlooking the Ton valley, in the deep south of the province of Luxembourg, approximately 5 km southwest of Virton.
Here you can discover the ruins of a castle (originally from the 10th century), which has often been destroyed, the last time in 1935 (due to fire). There is also the Museum of Rural Life, housed in a typical farmhouse from 1765. It features an 18th-century interior.
The center is Place Monseigneur de Hontheim, named after the cleric who once lived in the stronghold (now a ruin) in the village. That square is dominated by the tower of the castle-like church made of Gaumse stone, Romanesque-style, with small windows and a robust, square tower. The cemetery surrounds it, and at the entrance stands a beautiful linden tree.
To the right of the church is the very picturesque Museum of Rural Life. From the church and the museum, there is a somewhat sheltered view of the castle ruins through the trees.
