The Premonstratensian abbey of Postel, located in a beautiful wooded area, was founded around 1140 to cultivate heathland. The abbey has a real cheese dairy: Postel abbey cheese and Raphaël cheese are popular dairy products. The monks are also involved in the cultivation and processing of medicinal herbs, including ginseng. The various abbey products, as well as the abbey bread and the Postel beer, are available in the shop at the entrance gate. The Romanesque church of St. Nicholas dates from 1190, the abbey tower from 1709 and the Rococo refectory from 1750. The library contains more than 30,000 works, including 50 incunabula prints, 150 incunabula prints and 350 plant impressions. In the summer you can enjoy carillon concerts.
