The term schoorbak refers to the 'basket' that was used for the ferrying of iron between Schore and Pervijze. Long ago, on the site of the current Schoorbakkehoeve, there was a sheep farm named Kruydtswalle. It was already there in 1176, as it was then gifted by the Count of Flanders to the abbey of Veurne. After the destruction of the farmhouse during World War I, the Schoorbakkehoeve was built in 1920.
