These clay pits are still partly in use. However, the front part is completely abandoned. It was filled with sand, and several water pools that are still indicated on the topographical maps have been filled in. You can now enter it without any problems. The local youth organization has carved some clay steps here and there to make the area more accessible. It's a shame that horseback riders use these paths and thus regularly destroy the work of the young people.
