The Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Bezoekingkerk is the parish church of the East Flemish locality of Rupelmonde, located at Geeraard de Cremerstraat 1. It is possible that there was already a chapel on the site of the current church as early as the 8th century. In 1172, the first mention of a Romanesque building was made, probably a cruciform church with a central tower. In 1453, the church was destroyed by the violence of war. The church was restored in Gothic style. In 1603, the tower was struck by lightning and was so severely damaged that it had to be rebuilt in 1661, presumably with stones that came from the castle.
