Station Nieuwkerken-Waas is a railway station along line 59 in Nieuwkerken-Waas, a district of the city of Sint-Niklaas. The stop is officially named 'Nieuwkerken-Waas', analogous to the place it is named after. However, on the station name signs and electronic information boards, the name is written as 'Nieuwkerken '. This has to do with the naming policy of the NMBS. In the Waasland, the distinguishing suffix 'Waas' is always displayed as ''. This is also the case for Beveren.
