The Sint-Bavo Church is a building in the Belgian municipality of Zingem. The church is dedicated to Bavo of Ghent. The church is mentioned for the first time in a document from 966 in which King Lothair restores the ownership of the church and 10 farms to the Saint Bavo Abbey in Ghent. From this, historians deduce that even before the invasion of the Normans, a church dedicated to Saint Bavo was built by the monks on their estate. The patronage over the church was confirmed in 1121 to the abbot of the Saint Bavo Abbey. A transfer occurred after 1537 to the Saint Bavo Chapter and after 1559 to the Bishop of Ghent and the Chapter.
