The Kunstberg is a slope in the historic center of Brussels. The Kunstberg is actually located on the Koudenberg, between the Place Royale and the lower town, including the Grand Place. The Kunstberg was known as Hofberg between the 15th and 18th centuries (Wikipedia, n.d.).
The garden of the Kunstberg lies in the extension of the Place Royale and connects the high and low town, the Place Royale with the Grand Place in the historic heart of Brussels.
Originally created for the World Exhibition in 1910, the site was incorporated into the extensive urban project at the Kunstberg in the 1950s. This includes the Royal Library of Belgium, the National Archives, and also the garden, which has been restored since 2001. In 2009, the glass structure of the meeting rooms complex Square – Brussels Meetings Centre was also added to the site (Visit Brussels).
Very nice - for tourists and locals – remains the clock with puppets and carillon that is photographed and filmed daily!
For public transport, one must rely on the nearby Brussels-Central station.
