The municipal domain de Ghellinck dates back to 1718. The castle has undergone various renovations over the years: at the end of the 18th century in a classical style and in the mid-19th century in neo-Flemish renaissance style. The park was designed in French style in 1912. This 28-hectare estate with a French garden is recognizable by the uniquely trimmed hedges that grow right in front of the castle. It is unfortunate that this castle suffered greatly during both World Wars and, to make matters worse, partially burned down in 1973. The former outbuildings of the castle, including the farm, the archive room, and the library, are being gradually restored and repurposed.
