At the house, we turn left and arrive in the neighborhood called "Markestaart" on Steertstraat. The tip of the tail is located 4300 m from the church of Marke and only 1400 m from Rollegem and Aalbeke. The area covers 40 hectares. In 1852, Markestaart was ecclesiastically part of Aalbeke and administratively part of Marke.
