Broelmuseum

You can't miss the Broel Museum, located in the imposing mansion right next to the Broel towers. Since 1995, all the rooms have been sanded down, allowing them to regain their original glory. After the construction of a new wing in 1988, the Broel Museum has become an ideal place to host the exhibition of both ancient and modern works.
In the beautiful mansion, you can enjoy an overview of fine arts from the 16th to the 19th century, created by artists who lived or worked in Kortrijk. Two rooms have been entirely dedicated to the work of the painter Roeland Savery. The museum owns 13 of his paintings, including "Plundering van een dorp" (Pillage of a village), which is one of his masterpieces. Upstairs, you will come face to face with works by famous 19th-century Kortrijk painters, such as Louis Robbe, Loûis-Pierre Verwee, Evariste Carpentier, Jean-Baptiste Dejonghe... They know better than anyone how to bring animals, landscapes, and portraits to life in their works.
In the new wing, you will find contemporary art, often blending multiple disciplines. It is a constantly evolving sector that confronts the public.
In the museum's garden, there is the Orangerie with an interior design signed by De Coene. The Orangerie is accessible to groups and associations upon request.
