The Park of Beervelde is a 25ha large castle park that was designed and laid out in 1873 in the English landscape style. The intention of the clients, the Counts de Kerchove de Denterghem, was for the park to serve as a showcase for the then still budding Ghent horticulture. Even today, 135 years later, the family de Kerchove de Denterghem is still closely involved in promoting Ghent horticulture. Count André is the current chairman of the non-profit organization that organizes the Ghent Florals. Count Renaud manages the Park of Beervelde and organizes the internationally renowned Garden Days of Beervelde in mid-May and mid-October, where you can visit these beautiful gardens.
