Septon is a village in the Belgian province of Luxembourg and a part of Durbuy. Septon has an area of 12.26 km². The village also includes the villages of Petite-Somme and Palenge. During the first half of the 16th century, Septon, like other places in the region, suffered greatly from pillaging and requisitions by Dutch and Croatian troops, leading to a dramatic decline in the population. In 1632, there were still 18 families counted in the village, but by 1645, their number had dropped to 10.
