Weerste is a village in the municipality of Dalhem, in the Belgian province of Liège. Although Platdiets was previously spoken, the area is officially French-speaking.Weerste is located in the north of the province of Liège in the Pays de Herve, at an altitude of about 125 meters. The municipality is located in the valley of the Biek, a stream that flows to 's-Gravenvoeren, a few kilometers north of Weerst. The district "La Heydt" is located about a hundred meters higher. The landscape is undulating and characterized by meadows and orchards. To the southeast are the Bois du Roi and the Bois de Winerotte. The municipality is located on the French-Dutch language border and five to ten kilometers from the border with the Netherlands.
