The Condroz is a geographic region that encompasses the large central part of the province of Namur, extending into the Henegouwse Land of Thuin and into the area between the Meuse and Ourthe, in the southwestern part of the province of Liège. It is an attractive landscape with parallel valleys, all oriented west-southwest to east-northeast. The flat hilltops consist of psammite - a hard rock - while the valleys are made of limestone that has weathered and been covered with weathered clay, and this is what gives the Condroz its fertility. It is not without reason that one finds the largest agricultural businesses in the country here. But it is also a region with much and very beautiful natural beauty.
