A statue of Lomme Driessens stands in Boortmeerbeek, where he also became an honorary citizen in 1999. The bust was placed at the entrance hall of the sports hall on Sportveldweg in Boortmeerbeek.
Cycling legend Lomme Driessens was a sports administrator and achieved an endless series of successes as a team manager, with riders under his care such as Fausto Coppi, Rik Van Looy, Eddy Merckx, and Freddy Maertens. He was never at a loss for a remarkable statement:
