Tielt is a village in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, and a part of the municipality of Tielt-Winge. It was an independent municipality until it became part of the new merged municipality of Tielt-Winge when it merged in 1977.
Tielt is located in the Hageland on the road from Meensel-Kiezegem to Rillaar that crosses the road from Leuven to Diest south of the village bowl. In the north of the borough is the A2/E314 motorway with which Tielt has a connection. The village has two parishes: this one dedicated to Our Lady forms the actual village bowl while the parish dedicated to Saint Martin is located south of this on the stone road. Due to its location, Tielt has developed from an agricultural village into a rural residential village with some agricultural activity.
