34. In the middle of the 19th century, the then lord of Loenhout, Albert Montens d'0osterwijck, believed that the girls of the village had the right to regular education. He saw in Inn De Keizer the ideal school building. The property was purchased in 1858, and on October 11 of that same year, the Sisters of Gijzegem moved in. When the Sisters left Loenhout in 1984, the building was given a new purpose and became a paper and newspaper shop. It was later transformed again into the tavern "De Keizer." With the renovation in 1996, Inn De Keizer was restored to its former glory.
