The Archive de Bergeyck contains many documents for which proof of legal validity was necessary. But how did people prove the authenticity of documents in the past? In this mini-exhibition, you will learn more about authenticity characteristics such as seals and watermarks. This way, you can distinguish between real and fake archive documents like a seasoned researcher.
Family-friendliness: Seals, parchment, or watermarks are known to modern people only from Harry Potter stories, The Red Knight, and other fantasy worlds. But what do they really look like and why were they used?
