Bibliotheca Wasiana aims to preserve and make available books, newspaper clippings, photo material... about the Land of Waas and its inhabitants. There is among other things a unique Reinaert collection, a collection of bibliophile editions, and a collection of maps.

Lecture: Under the Spell of Books
Peter Everaers is an antiquarian from the antiquarian Secundus in Tholen (NL). 'Under the Spell of Books' is about the history of the antiquarian, the demise of antiquarian Merlijn, and the rise of Secundus. The speaker explains how his collection has grown, how he sought books with an eye for authenticity and forgeries, first editions, and exceptional collections.

Lecture: Restoring Books... or Not?
Guy De Witte is a master of preventive conservation. Based on his experience, he discusses what is involved in the treatment of books and paper materials. How do you preserve as much authenticity of the pieces as possible? How far do you go in restoring? What ethical code should you follow? Can forgeries come to light during interventions in the workshop?

Expert Fair: Treasures of Books
Paul Van den Abeele has years of experience in appraising books for CC Boontje (Archipel). He talks about the current (and/or emotional) value of your book. Paul Van den Abeele is assisted in this by Peter Everaers and Guy De Witte, who complement an appraisal with useful conservation, sales, and other tips each according to their specialty. Max. 3 books per person!
