"Brussels is one of the richest regions in Europe, with a labor market for highly skilled professionals; at the same time, poverty and hopeless unemployment are notably high there. It is a typical city of expats: of the 1.2 million inhabitants, 65 percent were not born in Brussels, in the last twenty years 1.1 million people have left, 1.2 million have arrived; the turnover is enormous. This looseness and relativity is visible everywhere in the city."
