Hard to believe that this peaceful village of Sart-Custinne ever had one of the most notorious serial killers of Belgium/France as a resident. In 1992, Michel Fourniret moved to Belgium with his wife. Fourniret bought a house here in the small village of Sart-Custinne. He started working here as a forest ranger. Michel Fourniret and his wife Monique Olivier were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2008 for the murders of 7 girls, aged between 12 and 21 years. Michel Fourniret is also known as the Bluebeard of Sautou.
