The walk.
Of course, you can join the walking route at any point. But our starting point is at parking Boogstok. We leave the parking lot on the east side and turn right into Engerstraat. After 400 m we turn right into Kwerpsebaan. We cross Everbergstraat and after 170 m we turn right onto buurtweg 8. We reach Zavelstraat which we simply cross to continue along buurtweg. After 500 m we arrive at a T-junction. To the right, we see the railway but we turn left. After 250 m, we turn left again and then right after 80 m.

Via Kaasweg we reach Kouterstraat which we cross to continue along buurtweg 22 or Galgenveldstraat. After 425 m we turn right. After 200 m we reach buurtweg 1 which we turn right into and follow to a triangular square with a birch. We go straight through Diestbrugstraat. After 500 m we arrive at Lodewijk van Veltemstraat.

We cross over and turn right. After 150 m the forest begins and we turn left into the nature reserve. We follow the nature learning path and GR path. We follow the meanders of Molenbeek and where the GR path goes right over the little bridge, we go straight ahead on the grassy path and continue to follow the left bank of Molenbeek until we reach Leuvenstraat. We do not enter Leuvenstraat but turn left along the fish pond to the chapel of Heersemmolen nestled among the bushes. We walk without disturbing the residents over the inner courtyard and continue straight to Donkerstraat. We walk this street all the way, cross Dennenlaan and a little further Donkerstraat turns into buurtweg 33, a beautiful piece of nature?

After 400 m we arrive at Diestbrugstraat which we cross and follow left for 50 m before turning right into footpath 39. It can get quite muddy here in bad weather. After the meadow with Canadian poplars, we turn right into footpath 40. We cross the little bridge over Zuurbeek. We turn left and after 120 m we turn right. We follow the grassy path. Zigzagging along the plot boundaries we follow footpath 39. We arrive at footpath 44 which we follow to the left. We see the small chapel of O.L.Vrouw te Velde among the bushes and behind it we turn right into buurtweg 22.

After 100 m we encounter a bend in the streets. We go left and immediately turn left into Haaggatstraat. After 70 m we turn right into footpath 85. At the end we turn left into footpath 88 until we reach Vissegatstraat. We turn left and after 30 m we turn right into footpath 100. At the end of this footpath we turn left into footpath 76. We continue on this until we reach Kasteelstraat. We cross over and turn right. We cross Weesbeek and turn left into the avenue. At Kasteel Ter Brugge we turn left and thus reach a triangular square with the chapel of O.L.-Vrouw van Bijstand from 1655.

We keep to the right and at the fork we turn left into Klapstraat. After 100 m we turn left into footpath 39. After the hedge we turn right onto footpath 60. We walk past the Chiro headquarters and after 300 m we arrive at Zavelstraat. We cross over and turn slightly to the left to continue 15 m further right onto footpath 60 that leads us to Engerstraat. There we turn right and follow Engerstraat for about 120 m before turning left into footpath 61 which connects Engerstraat with Kammestraat. At Kammestraat we turn right and thus reach the village square of Erps-Kwerps. Take a moment to look around at the church, the heritage house, and the residential and care center.

We turn left and take another left into Peperstraat. After 150 m we turn right into Keizerdellestraat. Behind the hedge, we turn left onto footpath 66 which leads us to Curegemstraat. We continue straight and after 600 m Curegemstraat turns into buurtweg 1.

We walk to the light beacons of the runway of Brussels Airport. At the intersection, we turn left onto the asphalt track which we follow along the light beacons until we reach Kortenbergsesteenweg which connects the villages of Steenokkerzeel and Kortenberg. Pedestrians can safely pass by the fences. We carefully cross the road and turn left onto the bike and footpath. Watch out for cyclists! After 200 m we turn right and follow this asphalt track for just over 600 m. Then we turn into buurtweg 31. After a little over a km through the fields, we arrive at the bike path Runderenberg. We turn left and follow this bike path for 1.5 km. At the end we follow left and after 100 m we turn right. We go under the railway viaduct and thus reach again the parking lot where we started our day trip.
