We walk along the cemetery wall made of field and iron sandstone to the picturesque Pastoriedreef. Idyllically located within a moated area, we find the rectory. The stately house made of brick and sandstone was built in 1690 on the orders of the Norbertine fathers, who served the St. Peter's parish. Wall anchors display the year and the abbey's coat of arms adorns the top of the façade. The gable of the dormer window is crowned by a sloping top piece. The windows have cross frames. In 1771, the roof and door were modified. We find the year in the iron fan above the beautiful pointed arch. The rectory is situated in the lowest part of the Winge valley. The moat was a precaution against floods and marauders. Originally, access to the estate was via a drawbridge. The gatehouse still has loopholes. It features a bell gable with a niche and a statue of Saint John.
