Nowhere in Sint-Gillis do you feel as far from the hustle and bustle of the city as in this former private garden of the Pelgrims house (1905) on Parmastraat. The garden was designed in the 1930s as a deep valley around the level of the Elsbeek, which is fed by springs here. Based on old plans, the springs were recently rediscovered and cleared. Winding paths along old trees, surprising viewpoints, and artificial rock formations make this steeply sloping terrain a romantic connection between the Munthofplein and the Moricharplein.
The Pelgrims house with the winter greenhouse is now a cultural center, and the villa with the turret at the bridge is a meeting house for seniors. Feel free to take a break in this little park…
