Welcome to Hill 60 In the Ypres borough of Zillebeke, tourists drive back and forth to visit the famous Hill 60 site. This 60-meter-high hill was the scene of some heavy battles during World War I and is still littered with some impressive memories of that time. A visit to this site leaves no one unmoved. At the foot of Hill 60 is the restaurant of the same name. Chef Karel and his parents Annie and Willy opened this business in 2007 with one intention; to serve their guests an honest artisan kitchen, or as the patron himself puts it: "no 'ge-Knorr' in the kitchen with us"! In 2019 Karel took over the business and started to cook himself, Jürgen is your new host. The traditional Flemish cuisine is central. Here everything is prepared with fresh ingredients, self-drawn kitchen fund and herbs from our own garden. Generous portions of steak, côte à l'os, grilled dishes and fresh fish are always accompanied by freshly prepared sauces, crispy fries and fresh vegetables. Every working day there is a lunch with soup, a main course and dessert or coffee at 16.00 euros. For a small hunger there are continuously prepared pastas and salads.
