The Koutermolen, a grain mill, is located on a kouter, an eroded inland dune. The mill dates back to 1434, making it certainly the oldest mill in the municipality, although the oldest date indicated on the mills themselves only shows 1789. It is a standard mill, which means: a wooden mill structure on a scaffold with a vertical shaft. The sail wings have a span of 24 meters. In addition to its role as a grain mill, the mill also has the history of an oil mill. The mill has been protected since 1944.
