Chalcography means both the art of engraving on copper and the place where the printing masters are kept.
Here, you can see extremely varied collections: they come from the Belgian state heritage as well as from acquisitions and donations from artists. If you take the time to search, you will discover old city postcards as well as works from contemporary artists.
A lesser known aspect of the chalcography service, the engraving printing workshop can however be seen from the viewing room. If you come by at the right time, you will be able to catch a glance of the color preparation or of the printing of an engraving under the press.
This service is opened to the public, which means anybody can, for a reasonable price, order a print of one of the works chosen amongst the collections.
