Snaaskerke is a small polder village along the Plassendale - Nieuwpoort canal in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The village became a part of Gistel in 1977, just like Moere and Zevekote.
During the 19th-century turf extraction, quite a few Roman artifacts were found, indicating Roman presence. At that time, salt extraction was being done in nearby Leffinge, and a few kilometers away was the important Roman fort of Oudenburg.
