Steenkerke is a rural village in the Belgian province of West Flanders and a subdivision of the city of Veurne. The patronage rights belonged to the abbot of the Saint-Bertin Abbey in Saint-Omer. The village has 409 inhabitants. The village center still lies among the fields, but is only about three kilometers from the urban core and a few hundred meters from the industrial area of Veurne, which is separated from it by the A18/E40 highway.
