Membruggen is a village in the municipality of Riemst in the province of Limburg in Belgium, watered by the Molenbeek, a tributary of the Demer. In 2006 it had about 804 inhabitants. It is located next to the ancient Roman road Tongeren-Nijmegen and Gallo-Roman artifacts and remains of a villa have been found. The first written mention dates from 1365 when it was a fief of the county of Loon it passed to the principality of Liège. In 1766 the count and provost of the captitle of Liège de Borchgrave acquired feudal rights.
