This industrial building is better known in the area under the name 'Catrysse Moere'. It is also this name that is painted on the facade along the canal. This building was designed as a grain storage facility, hence its specific high and slender design.
The building was constructed during the interwar period, initially consisting of four wooden silos. Four years after the first construction phase, the entire area had already doubled in size, which indicates the successful operation of the company.
The location along the Nieuwpoort-Plassendale canal was strategically chosen: here, ships could easily load and unload their cargo. On this side, the crane that testifies to this has been preserved.
In 1992, the entire structure was renovated to serve a new purpose: today, the building is used as a residence and wellness center. Light has been brought in through the roof to preserve the closed facade walls.
The current name refers to both the former and current function: Sileau (silo; water).
