Guesthouse Poelkapelle

THE PREVIOUS TOWN HALL OF POELKAPELLE - A LITTLE HISTORY
The former town hall of Poelkapelle stood for years a symbol of the struggle of an independent Poelkapelle. The Guynemer municipality was an independent municipality in 1904. The late sixties were the mergers discussed. The defense committee was its status in 1969 on an independent basis retained. In 1977 it merged them with the Langemark (called the Bakelandt community). The local town hall was a long time as a collection point for the inhabitants of Poelkapelle. Little by little, this was phased out. In early 2010 it was sold at public auction.

Stijn Vercruysse and Nele Tryssesoone bought the building and started the rebuilding. After one and a half year renovation and refurbishment work, in early August 2011 "the former town hall of Poelkapelle" was (re)born. Nowadays, it features a bakery, teahouse and Bed and Breakfast with a total capacity of 24 beds, divided within 6 rooms.
