Originally, the kasselrijhuis was the seat and meeting room of the feudal representatives of the Count of Flanders in the kasselrij of Oudenaarde. After the French Revolution, kasselrijen were abolished and part of the artistic heritage was transferred to the city of Oudenaarde. It currently hosts the Sint-Bernarduscollege in the Hoogstraat. A number of portraits can now be admired in the alderman’s room of the town hall.
