Sinte-Gitter or Sint-Gitterdal is a former settlement and archaeological site southwest of Landen, which was already inhabited before the Middle Ages. Sint-Gitter captures the imagination due to a possible connection with Pepin of Landen, majordomo of Merovingian kings and ancestor of Charlemagne, who is said to have lived in Sinte-Gitter.
