In spring, you can enjoy wild hyacinths and white clover here. The wild hyacinth is not very common in Europe. It only grows in the oldest forests in western Belgium, in northern France up to the Seine, and in the south of the British Isles. For this reason, we are globally responsible for the sustainable maintenance of this type of forest, and they have been protected by Europe as a result. It takes about five years for the hyacinth to develop from the relatively heavy spherical seeds into a flowering plant. It can only spread its seeds a maximum distance of about 30 cm from the length of the flowering stem. So, just imagine how old a hyacinth carpet must be.
