You are walking on the old railway embankment. This bed was part of the railway line Tienen – Diest – Mol, which was put into use in 1878. In 1957, passenger traffic on this line was halted and replaced by bus transport. A while later, the last freight train also ran, and the tracks were dismantled. Meanwhile, the old railway embankment is managed by the Agency for Nature and Forest. On your left, there used to be the station of Webbekom. In a moment, you can choose. If you go straight, you will complete the full walk. However, if you want to shorten it, you can turn right. Your walk will then be a total of 4.9 kilometers long.
