The Josaphatstraat sharply contrasts with the Louis Bertrandlaan: it is much more populous and narrower. It follows the path of the old donkey road along which farmers used to bring their cherries to the city. The street used to be a series of local shops, but behind the numerous wooden shop fronts, there are now mainly residences. We find renewal in the Schaarbeek Maison des Femmes (number 253). On the transparent and multifunctionally developed lower levels, there are exhibition spaces, a restaurant, and a reading and children's corner. The upper floors are social housing. Another charming spot with a colorful facade is Les Trouvailles de Louise (number 290), which serves as both a small eatery and a grocery store, open every morning (except on Wednesdays).
→ Walk further to the second impressive facade on your right (number 229).
