The old watermill from 1911 and opposite it the miller's house from 1894.
The watermill is first mentioned in 1382. At that time, it must have been just a small wooden mill hidden in the marshy area of that period. During the Eighty Years' War (1568 to 1648), the watermill is located in Spanish-occupied territory and is therefore destroyed in 1624 because the Protestants want to eliminate all important supply points (such as mills). The mill is rebuilt a year later but burns down in 1668, after which it is likely rebuilt in stone. In 1809, the mill is struck by lightning during a severe storm and burns down again, and is rebuilt a few years later. On April 19, 1910, it happens again... the mill burns down for the third time. The then-owner Victor Rommens rebuilds the mill in no time, and it still stands today.
