De Nachtegaal wants to provide its visitors, young and old, with information about the coastal environments. In a permanent exhibition you can get acquainted with the natural elements of the sea, beach and dunes. Several times a year there are additional temporary exhibitions. There are various free (search) tours for families with children and numerous educational packages are offered for school groups. At the information desk you can find a lot of leaflets, brochures and walking plans.
The visitor centre is therefore the ideal starting and ending point for a brisk walk in the surrounding nature reserves. You can take a breather after your walk in the cafeteria or on the (sun-drenched) terrace. Every year, De Nachtegaal also organises recurring activities and events such as guided walks, training sessions, workshops during "week of the sea" and "week of the forest", the holiday search (June-September), the Nature Festival (1st weekend of October),... and so much more!
