The Godin familistery is a phalanstery created in 1880 by Jean-Baptiste André Godin and originally located in the territory of Laeken, an old municipality linked to the city of Brussels in Belgium in 1921.
In 1854, Jean-Baptiste André Godin, French industrialist and Fourierist socialist, founded a branch of the Guisa foundries in the Belgian locality of Forest. In 1858, he moved this production unit along the Willebroek canal, on the quai des Usines in Laeken.
