Bulskampveld Landscape Park

Here you can relax on a bench in the style of the Bulskampveld landscape park.

The Vagevuurbos is also part of the Bulskampveld landscape park, which was established in the autumn of 2011. It encompasses the historic field area that once extended over the municipalities of Beernem, Oostkamp, Ruiselede, Wingene, and Aalter, covering a total area of 75 square kilometers. It forms a historical, cultural, and landscape unit, which, however, has lost some of its cohesion over the years, partly because the area has been intersected by a highway, canal, railway, and several major roads.

A logo was also designed with the baseline 'Don't miss a single piece!'. This slogan refers to the unity in diversity and the various natural and landscape entities that together mark the area. At the same time, it is a call to explore all facets of the Bulskampveld landscape park: a piece of nature, a piece of culture and heritage, a piece of landscape, and a piece of relaxation and recreation.

Initiatives have been developed to improve the accessibility of the area for recreational users. By better connecting the various parts, the aim is to create one large recreational zone that becomes more well-known throughout Flanders and beyond.
