The Eau Blanche is a source of the Viroin river that rises at an altitude of 250 meters in Seloignes, in the extreme south of the province of Hainaut. Via Chimay, the main town on the river, it flows further east through the Calestienne which it breaks through a narrow valley near Lompret to reach the depression at Aublain de Fagne. At Nismes, just past Mariembourg, at an altitude of 150 meters, the Eau Blanche merges with the Eau Noire to form the Viroin.
