The Vennbahn (literally: railway of the High Fens) was a railway in the East Cantons that was assigned to Belgium by the Treaty of Versailles, although parts of it ran through Germany. The Vennbahn connected the industrial centers of Aachen (Rothe Erde) and Luxembourg in the shortest possible way. In Belgium, the route Sankt Vith - Troisvierges is railway line 47, the section Raeren - Sankt Vith is railway line 48, and the route Raeren Border - Raeren is part of railway line 49.
