Brabant square farm
Former closed farm, formerly dependent on the castle of the same name, which has now disappeared, and subdivided into several properties. As early as 1319 there is mention of a court in Ruisbeek, which at the beginning of the 16th century was in the possession of the Vander Noot family, who had a castle built there; sold to Count Fürstenberg, it was acquired in 1614 by F. Lambrechts; During the 18th century, the castle fell into disrepair during the French Revolution and was subsequently demolished.
Today, the original buildings, arranged around an almost square courtyard, have been greatly modified, part of it has been abandoned and threatened with decay. To the west, gatehouse covered with mansard tent roof (artificial slate), from the 18th century; round-arched gate of sandstone with a carved keystone and very narrow drip moulding; Front façade finished with plastered cornice and side walls with straight mouse's tooth. To the north, former longitudinal barn with gable roof (artificial slates), also from the 18th century; whitewashed brick construction with low sandstone plinth, sandstone cornice and a layer of bacon; a shuttered sandstone window with negro blocks and projecting lintel; Other wall openings were made during the conversion into a farmhouse. In the same north wing but detached, former carriage house with gable roof (tiles), from the 18th century, left part of three bays with slightly higher ridge and probably shortened; brick construction finished with a frieze, straight and angled mouse's tooth; five sandstone round-arched gates (three closed) with imposts and anchored keystone.
