The Protestant temple or the Protestant church of Charleroi is a listed religious building located in Charleroi, Belgium. The parish is a member of the United Protestant Church of Belgium. In October 1841, the first communities of the Belgian Evangelical Society were established in Charleroi, Couillet, Roux, and Jumet by the Genevan pastor Edouard Panchaud and the French evangelist Constant-Joseph Dupont, the latter having been in contact with the revival preacher from Geneva, Henri Pyt. Léonard Anet, a former student at the School of the Oratory of Geneva, was the first pastor of the new Church of Charleroi in 1842, before serving as Secretary General of the Belgian Evangelical Society from 1856 to 1883. The second pastor of Charleroi, Georges Poinsot, was a former student of Jean-Henri Merle d'Aubigné at the School of Theology of the Oratory in Geneva. A first place of worship inaugurated at Place Verte in Charleroi on May 29, 1851 soon proved to be too small.
