The island of Moniat is a Belgian island located on the Meuse River near Anseremme, upstream of the Charlemagne Viaduct, and partially overlooked by the Anseremme Railway Viaduct, which allows railway line 166 between Dinant and Bertrix to cross the Meuse.
It is small in size, but it is classified. This island is one of the most interesting in the valley, from a botanical point of view: it has been the object of a forest replanting but it is spontaneously recolonized by many other plant species; In particular, there is the false ranunculus anemone in the spring as well as an alluvial alder forest.
