The Port of Namur manages various ports along the Meuse and Sambre rivers in Namur. The port is trying to position itself in river tourism.
The ports located along the Meuse are accessible for vessels up to 2000 tons and for barges up to 9000 tons. The shipped goods mainly consist of quarry products, agricultural products, glazing sand, oil products, construction materials, and fuels. The port area extends over 8 km along the Meuse and Sambre, covering an area of 161 hectares. The Port of Namur has good connections to major European sea and inland ports via the Meuse and the Canal du Centre.
