At four meters wide, the house seems squeezed between seven other buildings. It is supported by horizontal iron beams, to which the facade is attached. Architect Gustave Strauven has worked with Horta and takes his design language to the extreme. The fine-meshed green wrought iron on the facade is exuberant. The loggia with owl eye and the repeated balconies also eagerly draw from the art nouveau catalog. Inside, a central staircase hall extends like a backbone over the height of the house. At the top, there is still a dome with glass windows. The monument was about to collapse when urgent restoration began in 2015. Now that it has been restored, it is regularly opened to the public, but is usually fully booked immediately.
